At the heart of the Syriac Orthodox Telugu Mission is a commitment to faithful liturgical life, sound theology, and compassionate service to society. Our mission seeks to nurture the spiritual, moral, and social well-being of individuals and communities, transcending barriers of caste, class, colour, creed, religion, and language.
Liturgical and Theological Formation
We give primary importance to the formation of clergy and faithful through structured liturgical and theological training programs. These programs aim to impart a deep understanding of the faith, liturgy, theology, and philosophical foundations of the Church, enabling participants to live and witness the apostolic faith with clarity, reverence, and conviction.
Pastoral Care and Spiritual Support
The Mission is dedicated to offering pastoral care and spiritual consolation to individuals and families. Through prayerful accompaniment, meditation meetings, home and sick visits, conventions, and community gatherings, we strive to comfort those who are depressed, sorrowful, or burdened by life’s struggles, and to reconcile differences arising within individuals, families, and communities, guiding them toward a life rooted in divine love and harmony.
Social Welfare and Human Dignity
Inspired by Christian compassion, the Mission actively works for the all-round development and upliftment of society. We extend financial, educational, medical, and housing assistance to needy students and to those who are oppressed, mistreated, or crushed by hardship. We also support the dignified care and burial arrangements of orphans and the destitute.
Health, Healing, and Rehabilitation
Recognizing the importance of physical and mental well-being, the Mission organizes medical camps and health awareness programs, and works to help individuals overcome alcohol and drug addiction. We also educate and guide those involved in anti-social activities toward responsible and constructive living.
Awareness, Education, and Community Development
The Mission conducts a wide range of awareness programs aimed at building a healthy and just society. These include initiatives related to health and wellness, environmental stewardship, social justice and equality, education and literacy, human and civic rights, public safety and disaster preparedness, financial literacy and economic development, community service and volunteerism, animal welfare, and responsible citizenship. We also promote eye and blood donation as life-saving acts of social responsibility.
Agricultural and Rural Empowerment
In service to rural communities, the Mission conducts agricultural and farming awareness programs focusing on sustainable farming practices, innovations in agriculture, food security, soil conservation, climate change and agriculture, farmers’ rights and welfare, and the economic well-being of farming communities.
